Hi everyone
Recently I started a university project and I have to use the SBS-3 to obtain IAS. However I have been looking for a way to solve it but haven't found any related information.
Moreover I have heard that SBS-3 can receive Mode-S MRAR, what would be great because it contains the wind speed, but I don't know if it is possible.
Do you know some method to receive IAS through SBS-3?

Welcome.
The SBS-3 is both a dedicated 1090 MHz Mode-S receiver and a tuneable Software Defined Radio (SDR).
1090 MHz "Raw data" is available from the BaseStation software over Ethernet on port 30006. You will need a third party application to process this data. See page 47 of the BaseStation Reference Manual.
Alternatively you may be able to tune the SDR to 1090 MHz and use third party applications to process the data as transmitted by the aircraft.
Or consider using a stand alone SDR receiver together with an RPi and relevant software.

I'm not aware of any software that makes IAS available locally.
FR24 provides it, where available, on its website:

FlightAware says it's on its roadmap.

Would TAS not be more useful? It will save you having to convert IAS against temp and pressure altitude. I'm assuming you are comparing airspeed to ground speed to get your wind data.

Yes, you are right. I thought obtaining wind speed from IAS was easier, but I have to make several corrections, as you have said.
Regardless, I have read that Mode-S MRAR provides airspeed directly but I don't know how it could be obtained using SBS-3.
