Identified many years ago by one of the hobby's most experienced user, DaveReid, AirNav has now (for the first time) acknowledged the existence of the RadarBox's infamous "equator black hole" software bug.
"We have good news to our users near the Equator. We've corrected the equator reception bug on the RadarBox software-
We would ask our users that are located closed to the Equator (between Latitudes North 5 and South 5) to send an email to our support@airnavsystems.com so we could have you trying the new fix.
When contacting us please mention your city/country and unit serial number."

The AirNav RadarBox "bug" list has an entry for the "Equatorial Black Hole Bug" dated 31 July 2010.
As it says:
"Aircraft disappear from the map in the zone between 2 Degrees N and 2 Degrees S.
Tested but not confirmed from a few SGP users"
Today is the first time that AirNav has "acknowledged" that the bug really exists, nearly 2 years after the log entry was made.

It will be interesting to see how the eventual fix will be distributed and whether the next "equatorially located" customer will open the box and find a CD with the latest software or the pre-December 2009 version that is still being shipped today?

BULL-SHIT - a few SGP users ? I was the ONLY user in SGP.
I complained not seeing any Tracked Aircraft on my screen.
