Title: SE London newbie
Post by: grid56126 on July 04, 2018, 09:38:17 AM
Morning all

I have recently got back into the hobby, it's been a gap of over 30 years!

Living close to Croydon and working in Crawley has rekindled my interest, mostly just by viewing on Flightradar 24. I recently got the ADU software for logging stuff . . .

Not sure I will be going much deeper into the hobby to be honest, although Mode S intrigues . . .

I would appreciate any tips for busier locations - UK wide - for sitting in a car / cafe / similar and just logging loads! - are there any sections of the forum for this . .

Thanks

Richard

Welcome to the forum Richard.
I cannot help with southern airports as I am a northerner. one thing I have noticed up here the number of airports that had cheap parking for spotters has decreased.
Double yellow lines on approach roads to most northern airports enforced.
Military airfields are putting up screens around the airfields.

Thanks

One of the reasons I like the radar aspect is the ability to view from afar . . Not having to read off registrations close up and potentially view more than one location at once . .

I would love to hear views on how high up an overfly is to still count as loggable ????
