Title: Non technical newcomer from just outside M25 (NW London)
Post by: Beljus on August 28, 2018, 12:06:04 AM
Once I settle into a new routine after recent retirement, I should have more time (but less money) to devote to this hobby.
Been feeding to FlightRadar24 since 2015 using Radarcape receiver purchased from Jetvision.
More recently, feeding to FlightAware and rebroadcasting to ADS B Exchange.
Still learning about Virtual Radar Server features.

Just started to get involved with PlanePlotter. My receiver indicates I am feeding, but I have concerns with my display settings. Is it possible to send 'bad' data? Don't want to accidentally corrupt anything.

I realise my receiver is not the latest up to date device, but as a classic plug & play guy - don't feel confident to successfully upgrade.

Slowly working my way through a lot of valuable information on this forum and hoping to absorb at least some of it.

Welcome and thanks for introducing yourself to us.

Yes, "bad data" can be sent anywhere.  But most recipients anticipate this and don't use it for tracking.  I wouldn't worry.
