THis Mk.IX seventy six year old plane is scheduled to depart from Goodwood,formerly RAF Westhampnett,at 1330hrs today on a four month global tour.First leg is Goodwood to Scotland.

Hmm, they have tweaked that route since I last saw it.

Was supposed to be at CYVR on the day I depart (01Sep 2019).  >:(

But that route map is off for west coast USA.

Supposed to be at Boeing Field, Seattle at the end of August, not direct LAX vicinity to Nome, Alaska!

Perhaps it will be at CYVR.

They need to realise enthusiasts check these things.

Edit - I saw this Spit over Nottingham in early July which made me aware of the trip.

G-IRTY. the Silver Spitfire. and its support team have all arrived safely back at Goodwood Airfield on he completion of their circumnavigation of the globe.A remarkable achievement by the whole team!
