Hi Pipo,

You can refresh the logos' from the BaseStation screen by selecting 'Settings' then, from the dropdown menu, 'Reload' & then finally 'Flags'.

Outlines & Waypoints can also be reloaded from the same menu.

So the "Flags" alos works for the operator logo's?

Yes.

Files in the Outlines, Waypoints and OperatorFlags folders get loaded into memory when BaseStation is launched.

To reference any changes to the files in these folders, reloading the appropriate folder updates the files held in memory.

If an OperatorFlag file is updated or added to the folder, reloading "Flags" will update the files held in memory without closing and relaunching BaseStation.

I see in my BaseStation folder 2 folders:

BMPFlags & CountryFlags, I see in BMPflags some flags are marked like *MIL (military), inside the countryflags i dont see the *MIL flags.

Can i just copy all flags inside BMPflags and past them in to CountryFlags folder?

In a standard BaseStation install you should have a number of sub-folders:

BMPFlags
OperatorFlags
Outlines
RadioFrequencies
UserData
Waypoints

I've never come across CountryFlags.  I have no idea what you have in that folder?

BMPFlags holds bmp files for each country, including military ones.  These display in the Aircraft List in the Flag column.  See attached.

Reading your original messages, I understood you were asking about "operator logos".  These are the also displayed in the Aircraft List in the Operator column.

If you are asking about OperatorFlags, please read this free Guide:

What files are in the CountryFlags folder?

But, for updating OperatorFlags, it should be irrelevant.

Operator logo's refreshing works great after you tip  ;)

In countryflags are only country flgs in bmp files, when copy past them in to BMPFlags there are the same. I just removed the Countryflags folder and will see what basestation will do

I'm using SBS-1 Software 1.2.3.148 and firmware V 3.02

Under settings reload it only allows me to reload Outlines and Waypoints only?

Is this please because I'm using old software and firmware? If so would it be an easy process
to upgrade or is this likely to be problematic and cause issues with my SBS?

Thanks

Terry

Hi Terry

Reloading Flags was an upgrade to BaseStation but I don't remember when and in which version.  If Flags doesn't appear in your Reload (see atatched) I suspect you need to upgrade to the latest BaseStataion version, 184.

This is quite easy.  Just download the BaseStation 184 exe and replace the one you currently use.

http://www.kinetic.co.uk/basestationdownloads1.php

I'd rename the exiting BaseStation.exe to BaseStationOld.exe.  Paste the new exe and restart BaseStation.  Then check Help -> About BaseStation and the Reload options.

Hi Anmer

Thank you for the information. I can leave the
firmware alone I take it?

I'll have a try later. If I do as you suggest
and things don't go according to plan and I've
renamed my bs exe old , I assume I can revert back
to the older version without too much trouble ?

Thank you

Terry

Sorry meant to ask will all my BS settings be saved with the upgrade ?

Thanks

Terry

From memory, the firmware doesn't need to be updated but is also easy to do.

Replacing the .exe is only updating the software.  All your data remains the same - BaseStation should look no different except you get the option to reload Flags.
