SBS1-er power supply

So the antenna is in the attic alongside the SBS-1eR, where you have mains power?  I assume Ethernet into the SBS-1eR and the other end into a network access point?  Or direct to PC?

If the above SBS-1eR location is correct, you need to power it using a suitable DC supply using either the jack socket (as I described) or a powered USB as IanH suggested.  Both should work and easy to test the later.

yeah mains power in the attic, ethernet to a access point then into the pc from there

I would think either option will power your SBS-1eR though I'd prefer a configurable DC output and jack connection.  Never sure what output you'll get from USB.
