Hello.
(not quite sure if this is the correct forum)

I came across PPDataGrid. Which gives a neat and very configurable layout for Planeplotter data.
For me it has only one problem - the lat and long values are off by a factor of 100 e.g. 5128 instead of 51.28 . This also gives impossible speed of over 4000knots.

Does anybody use this little prog and know what is wrong ?
The values in Planeplotter are correct.

I have used this but am away at the moment so can't check the settings.

I will be able to check on Monday if no one else can help.

I couldn't even get it to install.

This is the error message, "Unable to install or run this application. This application requires Version 4.0 Full or other compatible .NET Framework. Please contact your system administrator."

I'll download this from Microsoft and report back.

Hi mezoo

PPDataGrid is now working on my machine.

I've attached a screenshot to let you see my setup.

Lat/Lon is correct.

Hope this helps  ;)

Thanks Bethsalem,

your screenshot does not show latitude and longitude but the speeds seem to be realistic.

In the Planeplotter list everthing is correct.
So there seems to be some data transfer glitch

I'll check my PP settings.

Sorry about that, the screenshot doesn't show lat/lon, but they are correct, hence the accurate aircraft speed.

I hope you get you're settings sorted.

Mezoo,

I've installed PPDataGrid and it works OK for me, I've had a quick trawl through the settings of both PP and PPDataGRid and can't find anything that might cause the problem you describe.

I did think about posting at all as I can't help, but maybe it would help others solve your problem if you could report what version of Windows, PP and PPDataGrid you are running?

I'm on Win7 Pro 64 bit, PP 6.2.6.9 and PPDataGrid 1.1.3.10 and as I say everything is OK for me.

Good luck!

Keef.

Bethsalem

Good idea Keef

Win 7 Pro 32bit, PP6.2.6.9 and PPDataGrid 1.1.3.10

All working well.

Could this be one of those weird international decimal point errors - i.e. comma instead of point 10,000.00 versus 10.000,00 - just a thought, as Mezoo is in Germany.

I thought about that, as it is a frequent problem.
But as all other programmes were working correctly I didn't test it-
I'll check when I'm back home, maybe PPDataGrid was programmed differently.

Currently I'm sitting at Algiers airport waiting for my flight.
(LH 1317 if somebody wants to check my progress ;-))

Well, got home safely amd set up my 'Station' here again.
Set the windows decimal symbol from comma to dot.

and PPDataGrid is showing correct values  :)

You hit the nail on the head !
Now I have to see what my other programmes are doing ....
PP and Virtual Server are still working correctly.
But I guess the Office programmes will be effected.

Is the programmer of PPDataGrid still active ?
Maybe he could check the 'international' settings of the programme.

Hi Mezoo,

Glad you have found the problem. The author - Keith Tallent lives (or used to) near to Chichester in Sussex, UK. He used to have the PP sharer code of kt, I don't know if he is still active. I am away from home at the moment but when I get back I will PM you his direct email address (that I had some direct contact with him - again not sure if it is still acvtive) so you may wish to try and contact him to see if he could modify the program.

That said, PP Data grid is about 3 years old now and there haven't been any updates for a long time.
