Our military have lost to many aircraft and crews recently. The media has been very quick to get the info out. This incident/crash was delayed in being released. Usually the type of aircraft lost is known quickly and released. I hope I'm wrong but this incident might be something more than a training mission that went bad. Maybe the US was being cautious in how they released the info.

Notwithstanding the Daily Express's rather impressive photos of a C-17, that's about as far from the truth as it's possible to get.

The "plane" that went down was in fact a helicopter - an MH-60M Black Hawk - with the sad loss of all on board.
