Problem with adding Airport Outlines in Basestation

Hi

I'm visiting a few Asian countries in a month's time and have downloaded the following outline files which don't appear on my chart display after I've copied them to my outlines folder.

Taiwan Taoyuan International RCTP.out
Taipei Taoyuan.out
Taipei Songshan RCSS.out
Taipei Songshan.out
Shanghai Hongqiao ZSSS.out
Pudong.out
Shanghai Pudong ZSPD.out
Seoul Incheon.out
Seoul Incheon RKSI.out
Seoul Gimpo.out
Seoul Gimpo RKSS.out
Tokyo Narita.out
Tokyo_Narita_RJAA.out

Only 2 of the total files I downloaded worked, they were Beijing Capital and Tokyo Haneda.  I'm still looking for an outlines file for Beijing Daxing if anyone has one please.

I'm running my SBS-1e on a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 64 bit operating system

Basestation software version 1.2.4.184, firmware version SBS-1e build 402
Basestation software runs from Program Files (x86) and works fine.  I also use an add-on, Basestation Analyser from Aerodata but it is no longer available as there will be a new version coming out in the near future (I hope!)  When the new BSA version is available, I plan to buy a new laptop and reinstall from scratch, running Basestation off a folder off the root drive.

In Display Settings ---> Data Files, all the airport outlines I have installed start with AFB, AFM or AFP followed by an underscore and the airport name.

I also run Planeplotter on the laptop but won't reinstall it on the new laptop as I feel it is sadly lacking.

So, the question is, how do I get these outline files to show?

Apologies for such a basic point, but you don't mention if you have "ticked" the appropriate file names in the Display Settings ..... Data Files window.

All ticked that are visible.  None of the ones listed above though.

Hi,

When you add new outlines into your outline folder, Basestation doesn't know about them. Try Settings > Reload > Outlines and it should list the new ones.

I wasn't aware of that feature and when I tried it, I got this error message.

The chances are that you have a 'bad' outline file.

Look in the Basestation 'Debug' window. It may show the outline file that it didn't like.

I agree with Acarslogger. Most likely a bad out file. I'll help fix this when I'm back on Friday.

Where exactly do I find the debug information?  I've searched my C: drive for a debug file but can't find one.

Hi Dave,

Basestation > Settings > Toolbars > Debug.
It should display a new toolbar icon. Hover over it, and it should show 'Toggle debug'.

Thank you gents for your help, I have removed the Hong Kong Lantau Island Outline and it now works fine.
