Hi Everyone,

Hopefully someone can help here.

I have just purchased a new ASUS laptop and I can't get it to connect with the SBS-1er box.

I have loaded the latest version of Basestation and added the ftd file and the program runs and starts up perfectly. The issue is that when it runs the connection test it fails. I have tried reinstall still the same.

Has anybody else encountered the same problem? or has a solution please

Regards
Mick

Welcome

Probably the USB drtivers haven't loaded.

In the BaseStation folder look for a file named "CDMSetup.exe" or similar.

Double click on it to run the exe.

Post back here if you need more help.

Hi Anmer

I found a file called CDM20814_setup.exe and run that. I could see it's loading drivers but i'm afraid the same problem after setup and the test failed.

Is the SBS connected to the new laptop via USB?  What lights are illuminated on the SBS?

Hi,

Yes it's connected by USB and the lights on the box are illuminated.

In BaseStation Settings-> Data Source

Is "Use USB" checked?

Thanks.

I'm available to do a remote session with you and take a look?

Let me know if you want to do this?

Hi,

FYI information I have received the power supply & it made no difference still having the same problem. I have sent the laptop back to Curry's where I purchased it and just awaiting refund.

Thanks for the help and the time spent trying to resolve the issue.

While I'm here how do you set the box up on the network via the cable as I remember you metioned this in the communicatiuons. Does this mean I can run basestation off any computer on my network?

Kind Regards
Mick

Thanks for the update.  I'm sorry to hear the dedicated power supply didn't resolve the connection issue.

From memory, I think you have an SBS-1eR?  Or a later version with an Ethernet port?

If you have local network, the SBS can be connected via a standard Ethernet cable to your router or a network access point.  Once connected to your local network, BaseStation can be run on any Windows PC attached to your local network.  In which case the "Use Network" setting applies and the network address of the SBS entered in Hardwae Settings.
