Why the Air Force accepted this aircraft without more testing data is not surprising.
They wanted a new tanker regardless if it worked on all types of aircraft. How the camera
issues were missed in evaluation flights makes one wonder how much testing was actually done.
Only after it enters service do these issues arise. Maybe another example of Boeing and the Air Force cutting corners.

Why the rear-facing window used by boom operators for decades was replaced only added to the overall cost on this new tanker and makes tanker useless if camera stops working. New ways aren't always better.
