Truly an amazing aircraft. I've seen it fly a few time when it was put on display at the old NAS Miramar airshow. The SR-71 would usually do a flyby during the Friday show and land. During the night it was moved to a large roped off area for grown display that had guards inside the roped area. The plane did leak when sitting on the ground and was moved several time during the day. The plane would usually depart Sunday evening or early Monday. Other years it was just a flyby. The U2 also would sometimes show up and either do a flyby or land. These were always unannounced arrivals until just a few minutes before they arrived.
