Aircraft Crashes in Moscow

A Russian passenger plane has crashed into a main road outside Moscow, reports say.

Russian state television says the plane overshot the runway after landing.

This looks like it could be the flight. TU-204 Red Wings, RA-64047 hex 14FA2F.

No news of casualties yet.  Reports suggest only 12 crew on board.

RT reported that it was thought the a/c tried to make an approach using GPS .
Possibly because it may have lost INS.

The approach was consistent with preceding aircraft and it was lined up OK for the runway.  And contact was lost in approx the same location as prior landings.

Perhaps he landed too far along the runway with only a handful of people on board?  Best not to speculate too much.

Luckily the traffic was light.  The aircraft appears to have been going quite fast and visibility doesn't look too bad.
