Ex-RAF radar base in Norfolk up for sale on eBay

A former RAF radar base in Norfolk has been put up for sale on eBay with a minimum price tag of £2.5m.

The 25-acre (101-hectare) Neatishead base, near Wroxham, includes a high-security fence, a Cold War underground bunker and a helipad.

The site opened in 1941 and played a key role in monitoring Britain's skies during World War II and Cold War.

Since being decommissioned in 2006, the base has been largely unused and a new owner is being sought.

was based at Colitshall up until it closed and often used to drive past Neatishead - there was a bit of a palaver when some cars drove past the place and promptly died.  Sad to see both bases gone now

RAF Neatishead eBay sale: Norfolk base fails to sell
A former RAF defence base in Norfolk failed to sell in an internet auction posted on eBay after a £2.5m bid was withdrawn.

The base at Neatishead, near Wroxham, had been put on the auction site and had received one anonymous bid.

However, the offer was cancelled about two hours before the auction was due to end.
