Signal black hole

I have been running sbs plotter for three weeks now and have found that to the north of me I have a wedge shape black hole where I do not get any hits.
This wedge is about 100miles north of my location near EGSS.
my antenna is on top of a two storey house and has an unobstructed view in that direction, unlike the view to the south which has to get past London and the range is limited in that direction.
Has anyone any idea or a guess as to what could be blocking the signals in my black hole?

Mydel BS1105 on top of the chimney.

An impressive range
I suspect it is a hill or something causing it. (I assume you still have all 3 radials)

yes I have checked and have 3 still and yes the range is very good with just stock Ariel, coax and sbs 1-er, from ml&s in oct 2010, I think i may move it to the other side of the house to see if there is any difference.

The make is Fairy, the model is Ultra... makes washdays a breeze...

I thought you are using a AirNav RadarBox and got the Equatorial Black-hole.

Try looking for the obstruction by using Google-Earth.

Try rotate your antenna by 90 Degrees - to see if the black-hole move 90 Degree. If it remains, confirm an obstruction nearby.
