Strange problem on new PC

I have just bought a Shuttle XS35V3L to feed Planeplotter 24/7. I have set everything up on it like I had on my main PC. Basestation points to the SBS-3 on port 10001. Everything in the N.V.M is fine. Planeplotter connects to 127.0.0.1 port 30006. Everything looks the same as in the main PC. All Router forwarding is set for the new computer fine. So everything should be good ? Except it isn't. As soon as I connect Planeplotter, Basestation freezes. If I "stop" Planeplotter, Basestation becomes active again. I have hardly anything loaded with regards to outlines and Task Manager shows CPU at 54% and only using 29% of the 4Gb RAM. Only running programs apart from the usual Windows items are Basestation, Planeplotter and Avast Free Anti-Virus. One thing to note. I don't recall seeing it freezing until after I got my GS/MU approved.

Any ideas welcomed ! It is driving me mental, and I am starting to think that maybe I wasted money just to feed PP 24/7 from one of these low powered PC.

OK, panic over ! It turned out to be something to do with Avast Anti-virus. As soon as I disabled it everything started to work normally. As this is a dedicated PC for Planeplotter feed I think I can live with just the Windows Firewall

If you still want some extra protection there are a couple of free Microsoft options...

If you're running Windows 7 then you can use Microsoft Security Essentials, or if you are on Windows 8 then use Windows defender.
