Hi All ,

I have one of the SBS3 units that came with a F/W upgrade issue . I few of the units could not upgrade to v118 from the factory installed F/W . We had to go back to v115 , then all worked fine . That was over a year ago now !!

All works good using v179 . I use Ethernet and ACARS . ACARS had a problem when I first got the unit . Once I updated the F/W to v115 all work fine .

I am just about to try and up grade to BaseStation v180 and then F/W v119 .

Any one out there who could not update there SBS3 try the new upgrades ?? . Thought I would post this just to see if all will work OK before I try it !!

I've just upgraded to firmware V119 and BaseStation V180. The first firmware upgrade attempt halted after 66 secs, so I restarted it and it successfully completed taking 512 secs. I haven't had a chance to try the new features but all the old ones are working OK.

From what I can recall, some SBS-3 had this problem but not all.

I don't know if it was a production batch or which serial numbers were affected.
Here to Help.

Hi SBS3 Guys ,

Did the Upgrade to v180 and F/W 119  . All went well  and is work fine  .

Now have to figure what I & Q does !!

Does this mean I can run the ACARS freq from the Sharp down load instead of running it though the over SRD . Do I still need my VHF antenna connected when using the Sharp ??

Better do some reading up on I & Q
