Well, I have got mine today .... and it looks like I am posting the first problem request .....

I have inserted my set up CD into my Windows 7 Laptop, no wires attached etc .....  and that' s as far as it goes :(   ...   Absolutely nothing happening... The CD whirred a couple of times ...  I have tried to Manually open the set up.exe ... but nothing ....  Anyone else having any hassle ?

You could try downloading the Basestation set up files from the Kinetic web site - maybe you have a duff CD:

http://www.kinetic-avionics.com/basestationdownloads1.php

Basestation_179 CD

SBS-1eR, FA ProStick + 1090 filter

Will the Version 179 work with the Puck then ?

IanH654

Downloaded the V179 from the website ...  Now have this error message .... When I try and open up the Basestation

The procedure Entry point FT_EE Program could not be located in the dynamic link library ftd2xx.dll

Very grateful for any assistance.

Ian Not sure why the CD is not working and sorry you have an issue
The error message you are posting indicates you have not extrated the downloaded 179CD

If you call me in the morning I will ftp the PUCK disc to you

Chris

Evening Folks,

Just a quick update.

With many thanks to Chris Taylor ... A phone call at lunchtime to Elstree and my Puck is all working well with Chris's very efficient help via Teamviewer ...

Seemingly, the disc wasn't writing to the location on my laptop as the previous Basestation was installed in a non default location ...  That was subsequently shifted, the software loaded again and all is working well ...   :) :)

My first impressions of the Puck ... Very lightweight and easily portable ... Seems to pick up aircraft that my SBS-1 on my PC wasn't  ...  and I like the red USB port which will be well handy plugging into the USB port in my car when I go mobile ...  Only thing I need to get now is a nice little case from ebay to protect it when I am travelling abroad ...

I am pleased that I made the investment and well worth the wait !

Cheers and beers,

Ian H

Hi

New to the group today.
Rang Chris today and he was most helpful about the PUK, SBS etc.
Reading your remarks about picking up more than the your SBS 1 has decided me to order the PUK after Christmas.
Just in case Father Christmas brings me one.

The Puck should have shipped with a CD with the latest version of BaseStation.

Does your Dell have a CD player?

Chris-G0WTZ

You can download the latest CD here http://www.kinetic.co.uk/DownloadFiles/Basestation_183/BaseStation-1-2-4-184-CDROM.zip

Unzip it and run

If you can not download it maybe try a different browser
