Windows 8 problem

Hi Guys

I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 64bit.

Having a problem getting BaseStation to run.  Have tried reinstalling BaseStation to run and keep getting the attached message.

BaseStation version is latest as supplied with Puck.

Any suggestion to fix this.

Maybe try installing the latest .NET framework from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/net.

BaseStation doesn't use .Net.

Check the security settings for the files, they may be "blocked".

Chris at Taylor Made RF mentioned a similar problem to me a few weeks back and I'm sure he said it was a security issue with Windows 8 files and/or directory permissions.

When I first started BaseStation I received an error message that ftd2xx.dll was missing.

I then transferred  ftd2xx.dll from the old Windows 7 to the BaseStation folder in Windows 8.  The BaseStation folder is located in C:\Kinetic W8.

That's when I start getting the error message mentioned about being unable to start correctly above.

Where should ftd2xx.dll be placed in Windows 8 64bit version.

I've also tried changing the security settings as mentioned by Mike above.

Maybe try grabbing the 64 bit driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm and putting a copy in the Basestation folder.

Otherwise maybe try the setup executable from the link on the right hand side of the page.

Contacted Chris and problem sorted.

I needed to connect SBS box first to PC with USB cable to install the drivers then reconnect with the network cable.

I just noticed I have put these posts in the wrong forum section.  They should be in the SBS1 forum.
