I am not sure what to do and would appreciate advice from you all.
I am currently using a dongle with PP and that is working well. However I would now like to move to the next stage and upgrade.
I have the choice of going for a used SBS1e now or waiting a couple of months and going with a Puck.
Based on your experience, what would you do?

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave

Firstly I'm not an expert in these things, but as a user of an SBS1 since the off and have now changed to the Puck.

Here's what I have found.......

I now see more aircraft, more range and more messages since using the Puck...........

Buy whatever you are comfortable with - including using my cat's tail to receive ADSB.

But, don't ever buy a RadarBox - you will get your data stolen by The Chief Thief from AirNav Systems to feed their website.
To give "Unique Coverage of WSSS" in www.Radarbox24.com !

or you need an good firewall who allow you to block outbound traffic to.  :-*

So i want to bring my Hobby to the next stage to. But i dont need any "Standalone Device". I have an Good old IBM Server who have 10x more redundancy than any of this small Box.
Does anyone compare the dongle to an Box?
The major feature of the cheap DVB-T Dongle are i can use many (Yagi) Antenna on the same time to improve my coverage.
And i found some people who share the Date to me and allow me to see into the Valley or when i travel i take many of the dongle with me and send the Date (via encrypted VPN Tunnel) home.

Another feature is use acarsdeco2 who allow me to receive all European ACARS Channel (131.XXX) on the same time!

I life near LOWW / VIE and see Ground Traffic too.

I have compared a single DVB-T USB receiver to an SBS-1, an SBS-3 and a Mode-S Puck.

The DVB-T works but the specialist receivers process and decode more messages and, from what I read, last longer.

But at US $30 per DVB-T, they may be better value.  But I prefer to use something that has a proven track record and is reliable.
Here to Help.

30USD omg... i get dongle from China for 3,50€ include shipping.  :P
Maybe the Box are better because the use some internal filter and amplifier?
