Approval sought for new distillery in Lochaber

Proposals for a new distillery in Lochaber have been recommended for approval by Highland Council planning officials.

Adelphi Distillery plan to build on the site of a former sheepfold and nearby rough grazing at Glenbeg in Ardnamurchan.

Water would be drawn from an area of protected ancient woodland.

When there were proposals for a new distillery to be opened on the Isle of Arran 20 years or so years ago if my memory serves me correctly, I was asked to invest in it, but turned it down because I thought it wouldn't make a penny!
