Passenger jet makes emergency landing at Aberdeen

A PLANE has made an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport.

Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance services were scrambled to the runway to meet the aircraft on arrival.

The Eastern Airways Jetstream 41, with around 30 passengers on board, had departed from the airport bound for Newcastle less than half an hour earlier.

Crews hosed down one of the engines of the small plane on the runway while the passengers were evacuated to the terminal.

An Aberdeen Airport spokeswoman said: "An Eastern Airways flight declared an emergency.
