The latest news sheet from The Vulcan To The Sky Trust sadly confirms that 2015 will be the final year that the Vulcan will be able to fly. This news release is available from the link below.
Whilst appreciating that this venture has attracted many detractors over the years I feel that considering the age and complexity of this iconic aircraft the Vulcan Trust deserves the highest praise for their dedication, effort and total commitment  to maintain the Vulcan in an airworthy condition. The flying programme they have been able to offer over the years has caused literally millions of eyes to turn skywards with a feeling of pride and a reminder of an era when this country lead the world in avionic technology.
Thank you to you all at the Vulcan Trust and the many other companies and individuals involved you have every right to to be very proud of your endeavours.

She had a good innings.

Perhaps the team can turn its attention to the UK's National Debt?  :D

I'll be sad to see her grounded for the last time.

Yes, it cost a lot of money, and we can always argue over the relative benefits of where to spend what little spare cash seems to be around.
But I've had a  lot of pleasure from the displays put on, even if they didn't recreate the more extreme versions I remember from my youth.

I'd love to see an EE Lightning flying again, one can dream!

It will be a sad day.

At least us "oldie"s have our memories from when they were in service and can recall things such as the streamed departure of 3 Vulcans from Finningley at the B-O-B airshow in September 1973. Happy days.

They need to save some money to buy a hanger for it like Manchester did for concorde. Remember the Vulcan at Blackpool that was left to the eliments, it had to be scrapped
