From Bev at COAA:

Hi,

PlanePlotter version 6.4.4.5 is now available for download by following the link on the PlanePlotter web site. http://www.planeplotter.com/#download http://www.planeplotter.com/#download

---Usual boilerplate---

Updates are free to registered users.

You may need to exercise your browser Refresh function to force it to show you the new version of the PlanePlotter web page. If you post a message complaining that the web site is still pointing to an earlier version, you pay a forfeit !

You can install the new version over the old one but you *must* close/exit PlanePlotter before installing the new one. Your settings will be preserved. Nic's installer will warn you if PlanePlotter is still running when you try to install the new version.

If you have a version-specific firewall (eg Zone Alarm), you may have to reassure it that the new version is permitted to access the Internet. Be aware that some security systems treat any new file as a threat without any justification except that it is new. Please don't write to me about it; write to your security system provider.

If you have an installation of PlanePlotter running under Wine, this installer may not run. In that case (only), please download :
http://www.coaa.co.uk/planeplotter6_4_4_5.zip
which will be available shortly and unzip the files into the existing PlanePlotter application directory. Note that this will only work if PlanePlotter is already installed as it only contains the new file and not all the other files that are required to run the program.
-----------

New in version 6.4.4.5

Message rate window

m or M keys now close the message rate window without needing to give PP the focus.

UserString5 in condex

There was a bug in the condex processing that prevented conditions using the content of UserString5 in a condex working correctly. That is now fixed.

Raw data output

A bug in recent versions prevented raw data from AVR and Beast receivers from being relayed correctly on the TCP/IP output of PP in raw mode. That is now fixed and the output from the TCP/IP output is raw data if that option is selected in Options..I/O settings.

Units option

A new option allows you to select the conventional feet/knots/nautical miles or alternatively to select metres/km per second/kilometers. This will be most useful in the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States where these values are used.

Pireps

The new data input based on pireps over the Atlantic can now look up hex codes in the SQB so that the compatible data can be displayed. There is also provision for pireps to be displayed in a unique colour. This colour change will be implemented in the server when sufficient users are on this new version enabling the pirep reports to be distinguished from ACARS reports.

A number of users have already spotted test versions of version 6.4.4.5 on the server and downloaded it. I suggest they download the version currently on the server as some changes have been made since the test version was first uploaded.

Enjoy
