I also think the name of the older file SBS3FirmwareUploader.exe is much easier to associate with the job it does than the ProgUsbLattice.exe supplied this time.

Updating Software and firmware

To update Basestation to the latest version down load the latest exe file from the support area of our website! Extract (Unzip) the file and note where it is.

On your desktop go to the Basestation shortcut and right click on it. Select the option to open in containing folder

That opens your Basestation folder

Then go to  the unzipped Basestation file right click on it and select copy then go to your open basestation folder and paste the new file in it.

You will then run the new version when you click on the short cut.

To Update the firmware down load the latest firmware for your device and the relevant firmware loader. Copy them both into the same folder and right click on the KFF file. Select open with and point it to the Firmware loader. A dos box will pop up and you will get rows of dots and characters.
When finished the box will close

The SBS-3 can take up to 5 minutes and the SBS-1 series 2 or 3 minutes.

The latest firmware for the SBS-3 gives decoded AIS on an NMEA data stream which at this time is only available when connected by Ethernet

Please read the release notes to set up the SBS-3 for this function

When running the SBS-3 on ethernet with AIS ADSB and radios running you need a good power supply. All our tests are conducted with an Ipad 10w Power supply which works fine
