Isn't it marvellous as soon as someone buy's a SBS3 system they tell SBS1 owners to stop asking questions about that system, and if they want any thing to upgrade to the SBS3, or is it that misery loves company. I live 60+ miles from the sea so ship data is of no interest to me. I cannot go mobile for health reasons.  I don't want to use another programme to gather information ( I have never go on well with Planeplotter ) that Basestation should gather, after all isn't Kinetic supposed to be the leader in the virtual radar market.

The SBS1 is a fine piece of equipment AS IS, all I asked for is a statement from Kinetic about future developments. Or do I have to buy a SBS3 to ask that.

Anmer

I have no complaints about my SBS-1's.  I've had nearly 7 years of enjoyment and expect to do so for years to come.

Nor do I demand further enhancements from Kinetic but very much appreciate what we've had in the past, including Basestation improvements, all free of charge.

I also think my SBS-1 and Basestation will continue working as they do today should Kinetic cease to trade, not that I expect that to happen.  But the same can't be said of the RadarBox which relies heavily ondata from a remote server, as do some other virtual radar products.

But, like others, I would like to know if the "classic" SBS-1 will one day deliver "raw" data for PlanePlotter's Beamfinder and if any SBS-1 will support Beamfinder Plus.  That's all, just some clarification.

Maybe if Kinetic were to issue a definitive statement, more SBS-1 customers might upgrade to the SBS-3, who knows?

And whilst I totally respect Kinetic's commercial position, Chris did post that a statement would be issued.  But that was over 6 months ago.

Hi recently upgraded my SBS-1e to version 161,now when the reporter logs the aircraft the first squawk now says 0 for all aircraft,is this a bug in the programme.

Hi Paul

From memory that's a previously reported issue, I think from the latest firmware, 519.

Kinetic knows about it:

Say what you all will,. the SBS-1er is an excellent Reciever, :-*
And in my eyes,. no need at all for the SBS3 >:(

And that it was a big mistake to stop production of the
SBS-1er. Kinetic
Reference Plane plotter,. thats just a money making racket.
when I have an uploader feeder, then I dont need Plane Plotter.

Good Spotting

How do you make that out? I believe that a large number (probably the majority) of PP users never pay anything after the initial payment.

I'd also be interested to know how you track the vast number of non-positional mode-s equipped aircraft flying, without using multilateration.

Indeed, without PlanePlotter showing non-positional aircraft I wouldn't have seen 15 of the last 30 items in my log.

As for Radarbox, I've not explored any of the network options so up to now it wouldn't matter to me if Airnav wasn't around.
