Anmer

ThanksTerry

Have you checked your BMPFlags folder?  Does it contain a Taiwan.bmp file?

Hi Anmer

Yes the Countires dat file contains a Taiwan bmp flag

Thanks

Terry

Anmer

I don't see many Taiwanese aircraft so can't easily check if the flag shows for your hex code.

But I have the same Countries.dat entry as you.

Not necessary.

I just used Mode-S Tweaker and hex 899039 is in my sqb file and my Countries.dat file displays the correct Taiwanese bmp.

Maybe give Mode-S Tweaker a try?

Hi Mike

I downloaded Mode-S Tweaker and I've added 899039 and hopefully it will now show a Taiwan Flag,
another very useful program , thanks Kelvin

I'm not sure what you've done?

You didn't need to add anything.

When you run Mode-S Tweaker, you need to "map" it to your sqb file and the related Countries.dat file plus the folders for BMPFlags and OperatorFlags.  You do this via Settings -> Reference Files and Folders.

Next you enter a ModeS hex code, in this example 899039 and select "List".

If this hex code is in the sqb file, Mode-S Tweaker will mimic Basestation and display data from the sqb file plus the associated images for the CountryImage (country flag) and OperatorImage (Logo/silhouettes - if present).

In my example, I hadn't populated any data for this hex code but it still associated the correct country flag after referencing my Countries.dat file.

Is this what you did?

Hi Anmer

I did map the countries dat file and BMP folder but not the
Operator folder as I use specific names for some logos.

The code in question now shows as a Taiwan flag in BS

Thanks

That wouldn't have mattered.

In which case it should show on your Basestation aircraft list in future.

Not to go on again about hex 899039 B-16735 B77W, but this just came up on my SBS but not with no flag?

I used the Modes-S Tweaker, see attached screenshots and it looks to me as if the flag etc...is correct and should appear?

I'd need to take a look with you.  Tomorrow's not a good day but maybe Thursday?

Anytime to suit you Anmer, oddly the country flag showed on AD Lite, which is still being problematic.

Thanks

Just to close this part of the message thread.

Terry's Countries.dat file did have a conflict:

   899160 = 100010011001000101100000
137   ICAO (2)=10001001100100xx,14,
249   Taiwan=10001001100100xxxxxxxxxx,14,Taiwan.bmp
250   Taiwan Mil_3701=100010011001000101100000,24,Taiwan_Mil.bmp

Caused by one of these entries:

ICAO (1)=111100000xxxxxxx,9,
ICAO (2)=11110000100100xx,14,
ICAO (2)=10001001100100xx,14,

By removing these lines the Taiwan bmp flag appeared in the Basestation Aircraft List.

Thanks to egnx's Countries.dat Lookup Tool we easily found the issue.

Anmer sorted out the issue with my Taiwan flags not showing on my SBS, thank you for that.

Would anyone please be able to supply me with an up to date countries dat files for The Cayman Islands and Bermuda as I'm receiving quite a few incorrect flags showing for these countries, mainly UK flags ? One example yesterday was VP-CEX hex 4247B4 which came up with a UK flag.

Thank you for anyone's anticipated help

Terry
