Dilemma with SBS-1

Hello All,
Not sure if you can offer any advice but I am having problems!! I run Windows 10 the free update version from Windows 7 on a desktop pc with 2 display screens, one for SBS and the other for AD Lite, over the past year or so I have developed a problem whereby I have to reinstall BaseStation but after running ok for a couple of months it starts playing up whereby the below appears in a box in the screen  centre and the aircraft box on the right of the screen starts to break down not updating aircraft, call sign etc. I am afraid I am a basic computer user and the below means nothing to me!! If anybody has experienced similar and has found a way around the problem then I would be grateful for any suggestions, I personally think it has happened following a Windows update and there is now some conflict in the programme, possibly my only option would be to purchase a complete new Windows 10 and reinstall from scratch, Thanks for any replies in advance, Robin

Welcome.

When you get this error how do you resolve it?  Do you make a fresh install of BaseStation?

It sounds like a corrupt database but I'm not 100% at this time.

Thanks your reply,  Yes I uninstall keeping my Operator Flags and SQB File otherwise everything else is uploaded and updated after the re-install, funnily I am unable to load Bones latest CDF file so it differentiates between Civil and Military types, again this has happened since the problem arose.     Robin

If you think it maybe down to a Windows update a simple remedy would be do a "System Restore" to a point when it was working OK and see if it cures the problem, if it does not you can simply undo this action.

Thanks Graham, unfortunately having tried that suggestion it would appear that System Restore had never been activated since Windows 7 has been updated to the freebie Windows 10!!!

So when you reinstall BaseStation, do you accept the offered default location?

And do you copy an old sqb file?

No I install to C/BaseStation and I have both copied and not copied Sqb files

Update

I had a Teamviewer session with Robin and we were able to avoid the BaseStation Error by reducing the number of files in the OperatorFlags folder.

I'm assuming there's an upper file (or memory) limit in the BaseStation software.  I don't know the limit but I've seen this error elsewhere when the total number of OperatorFlag files approaches 10,000.

Robin had, from memory, approx. 9,600 files.  The error disappeared when we reduced it to around 9,400.

We have some excellent contributors of new logos and side views and the temptation to use as many as possible may need some self-discipline.

If anyone has BaseStation running OK with more than 10,000 files in the OperatorFlags folder, please let us know.

Unfortunately Kinectic appears to have abandoned BaseStation development and support.
