Bomber Command Memorial Ceremony-

Her Majesty The Queen will today unveil a memorial to the members of Bomber Command who gave their lives in the Second World War.
The link below gives details of the route and timings of the flypast by four GR4 Tornado`s and the Lancaster from The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight which will release a million poppies over Green Park in London.
A time to remember once more,perhaps,of the sacrifice made by so many in all conflicts.

Here's one  mission from my uncle's log 630 squadron dated 16 /17 june 1943  ED953 1X4000.4XTI's,2x1000lb, 10x500lbs Cologne

Even by 1943 standards that is some ordnance.Presumably the aircraft was a Lancaster?

Hi graham Yes a lanc from  east kirby One To Milan they took and dropped 4xTI,1x4000lb, 3x500lb up at21.37, down at 05.56  JA711Y 12/13aug43
