A vintage aircraft taking part in a flying display has crashed as it landed at a Bedfordshire airfield.

The pilot was taken to hospital after treatment at the scene. His condition is not known.

More than 600 people were watching the air show at Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade, earlier.

The airfield is home to the Shuttleworth Collection and was holding a Military Pageant Air Show. The Air Accident branch is investigating.

Information on the pilot's condition is expected later.

Sadly the pilot died in hospital. RIP.

He was Tony Roche, a former RAF Tornado pilot and Gulf War veteran who became a commercial pilot with British Airways, flying Boeing 767s and 777s.

He was Chief Pilot of  the Shuttleworth Collection from 1995 until two years ago.

You did but I deleted it as all you posted was the Daily Mail link with no explanation.

I really don't see that this type of post adds value.  I'll leave it this time so others can judge for themselves.  >:(

Anmer,

I didn't see the need for viking9 to post the tracking code on his URL he pasted on this thread.
It only takes few seconds to delete the tynt tracking code off the URL.
But If he still wants to use the tynt code on his posts. But give us another link on the post without it. So different forum members can chose what link to use.

I didn't think explanation is needed. I didn't want to add anything else since it wasn't needed. Next time PM me before you delete my post and I will tell you why I posted it at the next available time I check the forum. If you couldn't find the reason why I made the post.  You could have told him to edit the URL he posted and deleted my post after he made the edit. That would have been fine with me.

If you looked at both URL posted on this thread. You would have notice the 'Tynt Tracking Code' part was deleted.  Just like how others tell others to trim their email messages, etc online :)  Just being nice & helpful that's all! Plus having a shorter URL to click on.  8)

This what I was trying to save and not have you ask me about it on this thread. Your post and this post wouldn't  be on this thread.

It would be nice if more internet users delete the Tynt Tracking Code off the end of the URL's on internet forums!  Potential privacy nightmare.

Let's get back on topic.  :)

Have a good week Anmer,
Later  :P

It's not for members to decide what another posts.  That's the job of the Moderators.

There's nothing in this forum's rules about posting urls with or without tracking code.

As I said, I don't see any value in just posting a link to an external website that's already been included in a previous post.

I'll continue to delete any posts (without notice) which I don't think add value and are cluttering up the database.  That's my decision - final.

Update

I've now deleted Brian's three subsequent posts as they added no value and were drifting way off topic.

This message is about the unfortunate and fatal air crash at Old Warden.  Not a personal campaign about url links.
