I also received a message on opening my AD PRO today saying it had expired and was replaced....

Thanks RexamMan for the fix of changing the PC clock back to 2019, my AD PRO started up again thankfully, but a palaver having to do this daily to get the program working.

I'll try and contact Nicola again hoping I'll get a reply and any further updates regarding the licence manager.

Many thanks here guys, I was going to contact Nicola as well, as I only need ADPro for viewing and not updating my SQB file, I am hoping there must be a way this could be done
Kind regards
Steve

For Anmers question, what was great about ADPro was that you could view and edit all the fields of the sqb file. So for example when and airline changed its livery, my current flag would be EZYA320, then I would rename all of those flags in the fleet EZYA320OLD using copy n paste, the the new file which would then become the default for an EasyJet A320 in the new livery would then be EZYA320, so the copy n paste option was invaluable and saved loads of time.
Also, it could be sorted by operator flag column so you could easily see at a glance what flags needed to be done.

OK downloaded that SQlite program, all good, but no actual view of the sbs flag, do I need to tick a box somewhere to show it?

terrywadeairbus

AD PRO is the program I use to display my route information on my SBS1, I have an extensive Route DB in AD which I update daily, so I'd miss this function of the program.

I have sent Nicola another message asking for any further update and informing her of the message we all receive now when we try to open AD PRO, if I receive anything back I'll post on this thread

Regards

I don't think you can display the actual bmp in SQLite.

Is anybody else having problems with Active Display Pro after they get it started by altering the clock.
I tried to change a Route by pressing the pause button changing the route and pressing the start button - Active Display crashed ??
I have tried just pressing pause and then start but it again crashed.

Hi Paul

Yes I am getting the same, it seems it does the date check again when you restart after a pause.

I tried resetting the clock get the same problem as soon as you pause, plus I left it running catching up and it also locks up the screen after a while.
You can see the programme is receiving new plots as the screen scrolls as if it's updating but nothing appears on the screen.

I only need AD running to show new Frames which I then update the database Manual just like Mike is doing, but can't do it now that AD Pro has finally decided to say sod it and give up the ghost.

If AD Lite is still letting us update Manually then that's better then nothing at all, only problem how do I get AD Lite, looks like a PM to Tim might be the answer LOL.
Has anyone got an ultimate answer on how we can still Populate.

As Mike knows I'm not a Computer Wizz Techie like a few of you guy's, but can I ask if AD is Only looking for the Gatwick Aviation site to update and populate, then why has Gatwick Aviation not got their site back up and running, as I see it if Gatwick Aviation was up and running, then our AD's would see it and up date would they not?
I may be jumping the gun a bit here but was Gatwick Aviation also Run and Maintained by Gary as well as this would explain to me why both are not talking to each other now.

I wish we had an answer to this problem, Because I'm like a demented cow sitting looking at my SBS screen, I bet i'm not the only one as well.
Oh well here's hoping we can come up with a way of solving this problem.
As always I really appreciate all the help you Techie Guy's give out on here, Many Thanks Guy's.

I have no idea if Gary "supported" the GAS website or not.

But the basic issue is the AD "app" (software) needs on-going support as does the server side database that AD accesses to obtain the aircraft data used to populate a BaseStation.sqb file.

For this to work seamlessly, GAS needs someone with suitable technical skills and knowledge of how everything fits together.  And that's the problem.  This person is elusive and I suspect the lack of documentation doesn't help.  No matter how much we miss it, Active Display is a thing of the past.

What I find strange is GAS and/or someone was collecting subscriptions for years after Gary's death, even though it was evident from that time that AD could not be supported going forward.

Thanks for the reply Mike, Your Comment of Subscriptions was one that opened my eyes as well.
Whilst I was looking at all the AD links which popped up in Google, there was one that showed info on How Much GAS was worth or getting, It was a good bit of Cash.
As you say Mike,  after Gary's death, even though it was evident from that time that AD could not be supported going forward, surely who ever was taking the subscription must have realised this.

Graham Bell

I would humbly suggest that to put it in simple language " AD is dead-Long live AD"!

I tried to use my AD Pro this morning changing the PC clock back to 2019, and it's come up with the attached error, this looks like my AD Pro is well and truly unusable now.

Just wondering is everyone receiving this error ?

Thanks

Terry
