Hi

Up until a couple of days ago all my logos were showing up on my SBS screen (I'm using Version 1.2.3.165 with Firmware build 519 for my SBS-1er).  However, since yesterday any Operator Code beginning U** or later will not load.  I cannot see "WIF" nor "VOL" (for example) yet the logos show up fine in AD and also on my Virtual Radar Server, just not in the table on my SBS screen.  If I enter a code which is earlier (such as RYR) the logo shows up.  I have tried re-loading Flags from the SBS menu but that causes all sorts of issues including not then showing the correct logo to the correct ICAO code!  I have tried shutting down and then re-starting everything, but still the same problem.

I haven't added any software recently nor tried anything.  I also haven't had any computer problems for several months now, so I cannot understand what is going on.  I do get an error message such as:

Error : EInvalidGraphic - Bitmap image is not valid

However, I can see nothing wrong with the logos and I have even re-made one of them and still the error is there.  Based on a suggestion I have changed the countries.dat file (even though it was same for same but just in case it had been corrupted) and this has made no difference.

Has anyone seen anything similar or do I have a corrupted database for some reason?

Thanks for any insights.

Sounds like a rogue file in the OperatorLogos folder.

Download the BMPCHK utility that should find it for you:

If that doesn't work, let me know and I can do a remote connect with you.

Thanks Anmer, I have downloaded the file for future use.

Thanks to a suggestion on the Mode S forum, I was going to post my error on the Kinetic forum as well, but did a search first.  I found a post about either a JPG or a file size causing an error so I checked the files.  I found a logo I had put in the other day was the culprit as it was only 2kb instead of 6kb for some reason.  Anyway, I deleted it and all is back to normal.

Nice to have everything back to normal again. :)

The rogue files don't always show up, especially when the size is similar or a JPEG has been saved with a bmp extension.  That's when the BMPCHK comes in handy.

So I see.  I'm running a check for any other problems now, but for the moment all looks good.  Thanks for the software link and also to Stephen Jakeman for the time and trouble for writing the program for the benefit of us all.
