How did you install BaseStation on the new laptop?

Was it a fresh install from a CD file or did you copy files and folders from elsewhere?

Thanks.  Was that a physical CD or a downloaded CD file?

And have you copied any existing files to the new PC, such as the BaseStation.sqb?

Hi.

Thanks for the help.

Physical CD.
Had to put ftd2xx.dll into windows system and wow folders. As they were missing.

The plot thickens, checking my laptop with a friends it seems I am missing from FileRepoitary a file labelled ftdibus.inf_amd64_2195e2eae39427df

He sent a copy of his over but I cannot put it into the fileRepository   as I get access denied you need permission to perform this action

Thanks.

I'd uninstall BaseStation.

Download the latest CD file:

BaseStation-1-2-4-184-CDROM.zip

https://www.kinetic.co.uk/basestationdownloads1.php

Extract all the files and run Setup.  Do not accept the default ProgramFiles folder location.  Instead make a new folder "Kinetic" and install there.

Connect the SBS (I assume that's the receiver you're using?) and follow the install process.

If your SBS is recognised everything should install and run OK.  But you may get a driver issue as noticed elsewhere:

Hi,

Don't forget to put this ftd2xx into your Basestation also.
I had to reinstall not long ago and putting the file into Basestation file everything seemed to work fine.

Hi Anmer

Tried that and SBS still will not go through the setup routine.

Where does it fail?  Any error messages?

Testing Setup then get the test failed, not receiving transponder messages.

It is not the box as it all works in the W8 laptop.

Thanks.

Have you installed the FTDI drivers as explained in the other post I linked?

Hi.

Did look at the FTDI you recommended, am afraid that it is now beyond my capability or understanding.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Norman.

I can make a remote connection and try and fix this with you if want?

I'll need to arrange a suitable date and time.

Hi Anmar.

If you would not mind trying to sort it out for me, it can be any time to suit you as I am retired.

I have Teamviewer installed on the laptop if that helps.
