Scroll to my last reply on page 2 - Disabling uPnP on the router solved the problem.

This only started happening a little while ago - Upon reboot of Win 11 and relaunch of VRS the splash screen fails to disappear from screen displaying "loading uPnP Manager".

Upon loading the webpage http://127.0.0.1/VirtualRadar/desktop.html The traffic appears but no map, the same from a remote computer on the same network.

I have reinstalled VRS a couple of times from the installer, and the problem still persists. Windows is up to date and I am at a loss what to do next. I cant make any configuration changes to VRS as the main window never gets to display where I can access settings.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

How did the reboot take place?  Just a restart or a fresh install or recovery of Windows?

Just a standard restart - nothing unusual, I removed the last .net update to test, still the same. Noting I have not done 100s of times

Did you try uninstalling and re-installing VRS?

I have a similar issue but with V3, it seems to be taking a long time to open and close VRS and it also sticks at the uPNP part, however it does eventually close after 30-60 seconds. I run NordVPN on my machine and when I turn that off VRS starts and stops almost instantly, it might be worth trying if you are running a VPN on your machine.

Installed over the current installation, yes.

No VPN, just VNC as the windows box is unused and headless, but just runs VRS which I access from my iMac when needed.

The splash screen is not going away at all, I have left if for hours and still the same :(

Maybe try uninstalling VRS then a fresh install?

Thanks.  Looks like a dependency has gone AWOL.

This may be a coincidence, but a couple of days ago, after a Windows restart, Google Drive Desktop and Whatsapp Desktop wouldn't launch.  The start windows appeared but nothing else.  After many hours of Googling and finding nothing to fix it, I read a thread that suggested Microsoft Edge could be the culprit.

I hadn't touched Edge but it had gone AWOL, no idea how or why.  Downloading and installing Edge fixed both Drive and Whatsapp.

Do you have Edge on your PC?  And does it launch?

Yes and Yes. It is the only browser I do have installed. I always use Chrome on my active machines, but as I stated, this one only runs VRS. I tested the grey map problem on the VRS machine using Edge, and the problem is the same as me using Chrome on my iMac. :(

Anmer

Thanks for checking Edge.

It may help to recap the issue and detail the spec of the machine on which you're experiencing it?

VRS has been reisntalled and when launched the splash screen appears and remains.  The browser map is devoid of some detail?

Can you access any other VRS features?

And what's the spec of the machine and Windows version?

OK update to this....

The grey map problem appears to have fixed itself (no idea how) Installed Chrome on the VRS box and reinstalled it on my iMac (all settings appear to have saved) Map displays fine on...
- VRS box, Chrome and Edge
- iMac, Chrome and Safari

The one remaining problem is the splash screen persisting on the VRS box

I don't think machine specs come into this TBH. However VRS is a noname mini PC Pentium N3700 @ 1.60 GHz 8Gig RAM running Win 11
iMac is a 27" 2020 3.8GHz i7 128Gig RAM running Tahoe 26.4.1

Both machines are fully up to date with all updates installed.

One thought. Is there a way of starting up VRS without uPnP manager? bearing in mind I cant get to the options.

Possibly but it helps me understand the environment.  I'm trying to help and it gives me a fuller picture.

One other question.  Is the issue only on your "VRS" hardware?

Yes, the only problem remaining is on the VRS machine with the splash screen persisting. I do not run anything else on the win 11 box
