ive just upgraded to windows 7 which meant a reinstall of plane plotter from scratch, the last time i did this was when i first bought my plane gadget radar 4 years ago ,ive not done too bad getting targets via the internet including mlat but thats all im getting nothing through my pgr box .when i press the green button on pp i get a error opening port message ,when i checked my gs/mu i get the following info
    is currently a Master User.
is not currently an approved Ground Station
has "raw raw" enabled in Options I/O settings according to the information submitted in sharing.
Starting 1st simple poll test.....
responded to 1st simple poll test
Starting additional simple poll test.....
also has "raw data" enabled in Options I/O settings according to the information obtained by direct polling.
Starting 2nd simple poll test.....
responded to 2nd simple poll test (PP584740 raw buffer content = 0 )
has no raw data in its buffer.
You have correctly configured your router port forwarding and PlanePlotter but no raw data is in the buffer.
Either you are not receiving any aircraft at all or you have not correctly connected to your receiver to access raw data.
Study the Multilateration tutorial in the Help file and carefully set up the interface with the receiver.  help anyone tried everything got me stumped

Can you see aircraft from your PGR in PP?  With sharing disabled?

its as though the pgr box is unplugged ,yet it was ok the other day with windows xp,and according to device manager evrything is fine

What have you set in PP for Mode-S receiver?  And have you set the COM port in Windows for the PGR?

I gave my PGR away as a prize a few years ago so can't do any tests here but I recall you need to set a COM port.

mode s is set as plane gadget radar, com port in windows do you mean port forwarding

Anmer

If you have the small PGR printed Quick Start Guide, it explains how to set the COM Port in Device Manager.

Or contact RadarGadgets, they were always very helpful:

ive got the installation disc but cant recall it mentioning in any detail about setting up the com port via device manager,it does mention port forwarding but in no great detail ,and i think i managed to sort out the port forwarding ,i think

satcom

You may need updated drivers....the ones on the original disk are out of date.

Put a message on the PP yahoo group ...I am pretty sure that we had a similar problem
come up last week...which was resolved by updating the PGR sw

The first thing to check is that you can display data from the PGR in PP.  Or try using other display software such as Virtual Radar Server.

Once you have the PGR data working in your new PC setup, you can progress to data sharing in PP including port forwarding.

Found this which is a useful resource that explains about the Com port:

Anmer

From memory you check the com port number in Device Manager and then set that one in PGR.
