I've done my best to self-help but am close to self-harming!

I have an ancient SBS-1 (serial 000123) which I use when mobile.  Yesterday, having pottered up to Fairford to watch the US's finest bombers sitting around not doing much, I fired up the SBS-1 with newish Win8 laptop to find that Basestation fires up ok but no planes appear.

All the right lights appear on the SBS-1 (red and blues).

I have
Uninstalled antivirus
Switched off Windows Firewall
Read various threads on the Forum
Copied ftd2.dlls to recommended places

By which stage Basestation refused to start, so rather than risk me doing something serious, System Restore was next and we're back to Basestation firing up but blank.

My Win8 laptop runs perfectly in Network mode from my SBS-1er, it just doesn't like old SBS-1 on USB.  And I have a Win7 laptop that runs both the old SBS-1 on USB and the SBS1er on Network.

Win8 laptop has Basestation 1.2.1.141 and SBS Firmware SBS-1e 512
Win7 laptop has Basestation 1.2.1.146 and SBS Firmware 'undefined'

Any help appreciated!

cheers
Ian

You're probably missing the USB drivers.

How diod you install BaseStation on the laptop?

Do you a a file in your BaseStation folder - "CDM20802_Setup.exe"

If you have double click on this to install the drivers.
Here to Help.

I don't recall exactly how I installed Basestation....probably an old CD.

I don't have the exact same file but I do have CDM2.04.16 so double-clicked on that and now it works.

Many thanks Mike, very much appreciated.
